About and privacy
showmyarmy.com turns a Warhammer army list into one picture of its miniatures, with a link to share it. It is free, it needs no account, and it sets no cookies.
An unofficial fan tool. showmyarmy.com is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Games Workshop. Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000, The Horus Heresy, Age of Sigmar, The Old World and the names of their factions and units are trademarks of Games Workshop. The miniature photos are Games Workshop's (©), shown from its own store for personal, non-commercial use; model heights come from minicompare.info.
Where the pictures come from
Your list is read in your browser. Each unit is looked up in the Warhammer store's own product search (asked by our server, which remembers the answer for a week so the next person gets it faster), and its product photo is fetched through our server and cut out of its white background in your browser. You cannot upload pictures of your own here.
What we keep
- Shares. When you press Share link, the picture, a small preview of it and the list's text (army name, faction, units, points, wargear) are stored, and anyone with the link can see them. We keep them until they are taken down. Nothing about you is stored with a share.
- The gallery. A share appears on the public gallery only if its maker offers it there and we approve it.
- Reports. A report keeps its reason, your note and a scrambled code made from your address (so three different people are needed to hide a picture), never the address itself.
- Visit counts. To see how the site is used we count visits per day: which page, the website you came from (its name only, like reddit.com), and, for a share's preview picture, which platform's link-preview robot fetched it (like Discord's). To count each visitor once a day we keep a one-way scrambled code of your address and browser, mixed with the day and a secret, so it changes every day and cannot be used to follow you from one day to the next. No cookies, no advertising, nothing sold or shared.
- Units we matched badly. When a unit in your list gets no picture or a doubtful one, its name, faction and game are counted so we can fix it for everyone. Nothing else about the list or you is sent.
- In your own browser. The app remembers your last list and settings in your browser's storage, so they are there next time. That never leaves your device; clearing the site's data removes it.
The site runs on Vercel (hosting and the storage for shares) and Neon (the database for counts, the gallery and reports), which process this data for us.
Taking something down
Every share page has a Report button; we look at every report. Use it, with a note, to ask for your own share to be removed, or for anything that infringes your rights.
